Jamie & Mitchell

Jamie and Mitchell met while working together on a deployment together with the Marines. From there they grew a beautiful friendship which blossomed into a loving relationship. Once they started dating they knew that they wanted to get married and spend forever with each other.

After months of talking about when and how they would get married Mitchell officially proposed to Jamie. He brought her out to a barn to surprise her with his guitar and serenade. Then he got down on one knee and told her that she deserved a traditional and official proposal.

Their Tree In The Tetons

When they first met, Jamie shared with Mitchell some of her landscape and bird photography. One of the images that she shared was from a trip she made into the Tetons. In the picture their was the old barn that sits on Mormon Row and a tree nearby. This tree became a running sentiment in their nightly conversations as the couple dated long distance.

Every night before they would go to bed Mitchell would tell Jamie that when he would dream that night he would meet her at that tree. “I’ll meet you at our tree” became a romantic and sentimental phrase in their relationship. And as a result, they knew they had to have a Grand Tetons spring elopement at that tree. Although that barn in the Tetons is probably one of the most photographed barns in the United States, that tree will always be theirs.

Grand Tetons Spring Elopement Day

I started the day by meeting Jamie at her hotel and snapped a few photos while she finished getting ready with her mom. Then we set off for her first look with Mitchell! Of course, the couple had this special moment right next to their tree at Mormon Row. It was such a romantic and tender moment that I know they will cherish forever!

Their Grand Tetons spring elopement ceremony was just as special. Jamie’s mom officiated the ceremony and had so many lovely things to say as she brought the couple together in marriage. Jamie carried one of her grandfathers old handkerchiefs, as he had passed away before their wedding day. Mitchell knew how much Jamie adored her grandfather, so he shared a story of him in his vows and tossed a dime in the sky as an ode to him. These were such sweet additions to the ceremony and really brought the couple closer together!

After their ceremony we got a few stunning wedding photos with blue skies and white puffy clouds before a storm rolled in! So with that we went over to String Lake to catch the sunshine and finish up our session. Afterwards Jamie and Mitchell invited me out to the Famous Cowboy Bar to share dinner together. And of course I had to snap a few last shots!

I love getting to each of my couples love stories and bringing them to life through photography. Jamie and Mitchell’s Grand Tetons spring elopement was such a treat to be a part of! I can’t wait for your Grand Teton wedding, reach out and let’s start planning your wedding photography timeline!
