This article was written by me, Jocilyn. I have worked in the wedding and elopement industry for over 10 years. I love helping couples create the perfect vow celebration in some of the most beautiful places on earth.
Being an engagement photographer and getting to capture the giddy excitement of young love is what makes the summer so much fun! This mountain summer session was dreamy and romantic in so many ways. I don’t travel over to Utah to often, but when I do I can’t get enough of Logan Canyon!
Ethan & Amanda
I met up with Ethan and Amanda on a warm summer evening at the mouth of Logan Canyon to carpool up to Tony Grove for our couple photo session. They brought their sweet one year old puppy Indigo (Indi for short) which is always fun for me, I just love dogs!
Our ride up was so fun. We talked non-stop, just catching up on all that has been happening with them this past year. I originally met Ethan and Amanda when they volunteered to be models for one of my styled shoots. So, I was excited to see them again! They are some of the most genuine and kind people I have ever met.
Ethan just graduated from Utah State University with a degree in biological engineering. They would soon be moving from Cache Valley down to Salt Lake City area. As a result, they wanted to get some updated photos to remember their time in the area. I was thrilled to be able to capture this stage of life for them!
Tony Grove is always a great backdrop for any photo session, but especially a mountain summer session! The summer wild flowers were still in bloom, making the whole lakeside so colorful. We didn’t have to go far when switching up backdrops. Everywhere we turned there was a new beautiful landscape to greet us. You can see the variety we got in all these photos and we just stayed around the lake!
Indie The Dog
Indi had a good time running around and exploring all the different smells. She was too occupied to join us for most of the photos, only gracing us with a few good portraits. But these shots of Ethan and Amanda playing with Indi turned out so cute! They truly captured this stage of life for them with their busy puppy and the fun that they have together. Indie is an important member of their family so I wanted to include her as much as possible.
You can tell that Ethan and Amanda have the best relationship! They are so in sync with one another and constantly laughing. It was such a joy to watch them interact during their mountain summer session. They really are best of friends! They are also very relaxed and free spirited, I enjoyed spending the evening with them capturing images that truly reflect them as a couple.
With so many National Parks in the west I am confident that you will be able to have the most gorgeous mountain summer session to capture some stunning engagement photos! And if you need any pointers or locations, reach out! We can talk all about your engagement photos.
