Wedding Tree Jackson Hole Through The Year

The Wedding Tree Jackson Hole is a classic location for all sorts of portraits and occasions. And as a Jackson Hole photographer, I love helping couples elope to this location all year round! Get to know your Grand Teton elopement spot, and how to reserve your spot!

History Of The Wedding Tree

Early visitors noticed the way two great big pine trees grew together into an arch that framed the Teton mountain range. So it became a local spot for engagements, wedding ceremonies and portrait sessions. There is no documented date of its discovery nor is the story known of who first gave this site its name. However, this hidden gem has now become a destination location for many couples. Getting engaged or married on the hillside beneath the old pines is a tradition. Sadly the great pines are becoming weathered with time. In early 2021 the tops of the two pines fell in a windstorm breaking the sacred arch. Regardless, the landscape is incredibly beautiful and provides a distant view of the Grand Teton mountain range.

Best Time To Book

Many couples plan their big day a year or more in advance. Most of these couples are envisioning the classic view of the Teton mountian range as their backdrop and when following the advice from their photographer or wedding planner there are high chances for this vision to unfold beautifully. However, things like weather are unpredictable and completely out of our control. There are days when the Teton mountain range is completely socked in and you can’t see the mountians. For days such as these, I recommend the Wedding Tree as a location. This mountainside is forested and incredibly pretty on its own. It’s definitely a place that can give you that stunning mountain backdrop any time of year and in any weather.

This is one location in the Tetons that is incredibly beautiful all year round. When other locations aren’t in their prime or weather isn’t the best, The Wedding Tree is my go to spot for ceremonies and beautiful photos!

How To Reserve Wedding Tree Jackson Hole

The process to book this location for your ceremony is fairly simple. However I highly recommend booking your wedding photographer and/or planner before you do, as it’s best to plan the timeline of your day first and they will be able to advise on the specific date and time that will be best for the event you are planning. In addition, most wedding photographers book out well before these reservations and you will avoid reservation amending fees and extra steps if you book those professionals first.

Permits and reservations for the Wedding Tree can be made on the Friends of the Bridger-Teton website (https://www.btfriends.org/the-wedding-tree). When booking photographer who assists in planning magical events like me, I can help walk you through the process of filling out the needed details like permit applications, operation plans, as well as the perfect timeline.
