Dallas & Ellie loaded up their jeep for a weekend getaway and a chance to get some truly amazing wedding photos! They had just gotten married a month prior but were still wanting the epic photos they had dreamt of…. Despite vehicle trouble and life obligations pulling at them, they made it to Moab, Utah. They rolled into the visitors center parking lot of Arches National Park just in time to meet up with me. I had found the perfect backdrop for them and was so excited to create something incredible for them. They quickly changed into their wedding attire, Ellie into her custom handmade gown from Ukraine and Dallas into his maroon suit coat from ASOS. With the couple dressed, they hopped into my truck to venture to our destination!

Arches National Park
First, we took a short hike to Turret Arch to frame this couple in the stunning landscape. The wind allowed Ellie’s veil to take flight and the movement created some incredible images. I always say that wind is one of my favorite elements that add special whimsy to the photographs.

Overall, the landscape was so beautiful and perfectly breathtaking! How spectacular is this earth we live in? Gods creations never cease to amaze me.

Love Notes
To capture authentic emotion I had Dallas and Ellie write in a notebook three things they love about each other. As a result, Dallas disappeared for a minute during this time. Eventually we found him a top this giant boulder so that turned into an epic photo!

I had them read what they wrote while I documented it all. These two had a lot of fun with it and were crying from laughter. I love getting authentic photos that capture emotion while creating real experiences like this. In the end, having the opportunity to make these moments happen is what makes a photoshoot more of an experience.

After they shared a few intimate moments together, they celebrated with music I had playing in the background. In addition to their intimacy, I seriously loved how these two made each other laugh!

The Details
We had to capture all the little things because the details were so amazing! Ellie’s beautiful shawl was hand made in Turkey, Dallas designed Ellie’s lovely ring and his ring is vintage, worn by his grandfather. Everything had some significant meaning to them. As a wedding professional my advice to couples during the planning process is to add meaning to as many details as possible. If something has meaning to you, it will never go out of style!

AND we have to talk about Ellie’s hair! She braided in her dread extensions on the drive to Moab. Each dread was handcrafted by herself, she owns a dread extension company called the DreadFull Hippie. These unique extensions provide a way for anyone wanting the look without the damage, stench or commitment of real dreadlocks. The synthetic wool dreads prevent breakage and allow your natural hair to remain clean & healthy. Ellie mentioned that wearing her dreads have helped her hair grow longer than she has ever been able to grow it before. They just protect your hair! Plus, look how gorgeous they are!

I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with this rad couple! We had a blast hanging out and running through the desert. Creating something special for them in the magnificent red rock views was an absolute pleasure.
