Steph and Clutch are a totally rad couple. Both are extremely talented and creative photographers and together they own a photo studio in Salt Lake City, Ut Niore | Nior. So having the opportunity to capture a Teton formal engagement session with them was such a treat!
Posing Tips
For this session I was a part of a group being mentored by the amazing Chantel Marie. She taught us her magical way of implementing movement into posing. I found that this technique helped bring life to the images. As well as adding lots of emotions and personality.
As a Grand Teton wedding photographer I love learning new way to improve my clients experience and gallery. Using prompts rather than poses gave this Teton formal engagement session more emotion. Allowing my couple’s personality to shine through with every image!
In addition to the new posing tips, I was completely mesmerized by the incredible sunrise. Typically I don’t open my eyes that early in the morning. I’m a total night owl! My energy peaks around 10pm with added inspiration and motivation. However, rising early was totally worth it for this session!
We were on site at 5am to catch the first light peek through the trees. This spot is located in the Grand Teton National Park near the Granite Canyon Trailhead. The area was so incredible in the morning light and made me want to become a morning person. I shamefully realized that this had been the first sunrise I had witnessed in over a year! Can you even believe that?
Capturing The Couple
Steph and Clutch love strong minimal design. I believe this photo of them spoke to their attraction with the asymmetrical composition and the use of negative space.
Similarly, I love this photo of these two. I have no idea what he whispered in her ear but the way she pulled him in closer made my heart leap. Love is such a beautiful thing.
This is the Austin gown by Chantel Lauren. You can find this amazing gown HERE. The silk was buttery soft and moved like a dove fluttering in the wind. In addition, the Chantilly Lace Bodice with Rose Appliqué detail adds a perfect feminine touch to this elegant gown. Certainly, Chantel Lauren designs the most incredible dresses. If you haven’t checked out her new collection, I highly recommend you take a moment to browse her site.
Above all, I thoroughly enjoyed this sunrise session. Even though it means waking up at 4am, I believe I will be adding more early sessions to my schedule. That is to say, waking up early for the perfect lighting is worth it!
If you are wanting to experience the spectacular morning light and get the prettiest backdrop for your session. I will gladly tag along! In addition, I will share my favorite locations of the National park.
As always, the Grand Teton National Park took my breath away. Although this specific location didn’t highlight the majestic mountain peaks. Most importantly, you can clearly see that it is filled with a beauty of its own.
Okay, who wants to go on a road trip? Reach out and let’s do this thing!
