Bride Advice For Elopement Planning

If you are in the midst of elopement planning, or even just starting, this blog is for you! As a Jackson Hole photographer who helps plan and capture elopements, I have a bit of expertise in planning meaningful and stress free elopements. And the best advice I can give it that your special day should be about the experiences and memories you create. Here is how I help my couples do just that!

Focus On The Experience

Whether it’s sharing private vows or including your favorite animals, make it deeply personal. These personal details are what makes your elopement uniquely yours! It adds to the experience of the day when you plan meaningful moments. Consider events of the day, like getting ready, first look, hikes, ect. Then think of how you can incorporate part of your unique story, such as prayer, artwork, family heirlooms, and so on. When you forgo the intimate and personal details, your elopement experience will feel like a photoshoot, rather than the most significant day of your life!

Choose A Meaningful Location When Elopement Planning

Whether it’s a courthouse, a favorite trail, or a family ranch, the place should hold sentimental value! Now, as an elopement photographer I get a lot of couples from out of state who want to elope to the Tetons, which I love! Just because you haven’t been to a location doesn’t mean it doesn’t hold significance to you. This could be a location you have always dreamed about, one that ticks all the boxes, or simply a new place to explore. If your priorities in your relationship are adventure and creating memories, then going to a new place to start your new life together is a perfect fit and holds great meaning!

Embrace Simplicity

The most beautiful weddings aren’t necessarily the most elaborate, they’re the ones filled with love, connection, and authenticity. Something I love to do as I help couples plan their elopement in the Tetons is to help them embrace the simplicity of an elopement. We get to make the day completely yours! You get to choose what you want to focus on and the connection you and your partner have. There is not pressure from guests or family, this is completely yours!
