Wedding Guest To Invite To Your Elopement

You deserve to have the wedding or elopement you’ve dreamed of. And with that, you need to be surrounded by only the best of the best! As a Jackson Hole photographer over the last 10 years, I have seen the difference guests make at a wedding.

So you’ll want to be sure you are inviting the right people! Whether you are having more of a traditional wedding party or just an intimate elopement ceremony, here are some tips for how to form a wedding guest list!

Your Wedding Guest Favorites

First up, your wedding guest favorites. These are the people you can’t imagine saying “I do” without. For some couples, it’s an intimate affair with just you and your significant other – and we absolutely love that!

But if you’re dreaming of a larger celebration, consider those who know you best. Think immediate family, closest friends, and those special individuals who may not be in the wedding party, but will definitely be in the front row supporting you!

Family

When it comes to family, there’s a lot of pressure to invite everybody as a wedding guest. My advice is to choose those who are closest to you. Don’t feel obligated to invite every member of your family. If your venue and budget allow for more guests, the more the merrier. If you need more ways to include different family groups across state or country lines, consider hosting smaller dinners or receptions to include everyone.

Friends

All of us have long lists of friends from different stages of life. For your wedding, focus on inviting your current closest friends. That’s those who mean the most to you and with whom you interact often. For a larger wedding, feel free to extend the guest list as you see fit!

No Guilt Wedding Guest List

Throughout the wedding planning process, don’t feel bad for not being able to invite everyone you know. As an elopement photographer, who also helps with planning, I can promise you less is more. Less guests often give you more time to embrace the moment and truly connect with your person.
