Recently engaged? Congratulations! As a Jackson Hole elopement photographer I couldn’t be more excited for you! After working over a decade with eloping couples, I know the joy you are about to experience. But, you may be asking yourself “now what?” or maybe “should I elope?”. That is exactly the question I am here to answer so you can get to the most joyous celebration of your life!

Stay True To You
First things first, I want to talk about mindset. Many people will be more than willing to tell you what to do for your big day. Remember that it’s YOUR wedding day! Staying true to what you both want as a couple will be the best wedding gift to yourselves.
Keep your mindset clear on what you want and how you are being influenced. For some people that’s a big celebration and to others it’s exploring the trails of Grand Tetons National Park with no timeline ahead of them. Either one is a great choice, but make sure it is the RIGHT choice for you!

Personal Preferences
When asking yourself “Should I Elope?” start with the why. Why are you considering it in the first place? Are you wanting a more intimate experience? Or maybe a more adventurous one? Definitely want a stress-free experience! If these all sound like what you are envisioning for your big day, then a Jackson Hole elopement may be for you!

Guest List
Traditionally elopements are just the bride, groom, two witnesses and the officiant. However, I have had plenty of couples invite a handful of close family and/or friends. When thinking about eloping, consider who you really want there. If that list exceeds 10-15 people, then you may want to plan a micro-wedding instead.
This is also something to consider for a Jackson Hole elopement. Depending on the ceremony location, there is a limit to how many people are permitted to be there. This is something we can talk the specifics on during our planning phone call!
Another option for including specific guests that cannot make it is to Facetime. I have had so many eloping couples do this with parents or grandparents and those moments have been some of the most tender from the day!

Budget
Another key component for deciding on an elopement is your budget. Elopements tend to be more affordable than traditional weddings because you forgo so many of the niceties like cocktail hour bartenders, DJs, wedding favors and so on.
In your elopement budget think about all the in between cost. Things like travel, hotels and meals. These are additional to the standard vendors that most couples initially think of, and can be easily overlooked.

Meaningful Details
If you have been following me for a while you know that I love adding sentimental details into elopements. When thinking “Should I Elope?” remember that we can and will include your traditions and sentiments that are meaningful to you. Just because you decide to elope in Jackson Hole doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice what matters most to you!

Should I Elope In Jackson Hole?
I may a little bias, but Jackson Hole is a wonderful place to elope. Being so close to the Grand Tetons means that we will captured epic bridal photos as we explore the park. In addition to adventure, Jackson Hole offers luxury cabins, spas, shopping and eateries. It really is the best of both worlds!
