I seriously feel so spoiled to live in place that has so many different gorgeous locations! Within two hours of my doorstep we have stunning mountain peaks, black lava fields, and several locations that will give you the perfect beach vibes. Spiral Jetty Great Salt Lake Utah is on the northeastern edge of the Great Salt Lake in Utah. The Spiral Jetty is an earthwork art installation created in 1999 by the American sculptor, Robert Smithson. Robert created the 1,500 ft long spiral entirely of mud, salt crystals, and basalt rocks.

Besides the interesting sculpture, this location has unique features that leave visitors in awe. The white sand created by salt particles lines the shore of the prettiest pink water. Seriously, it’s pink! The pink hue of the water is due to the presence of salt tolerant bacteria and algae that thrive in the extreme 27 percent salinity of the lake’s north arm. Which was isolated from freshwater sources by the building of a causeway by the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1959. Isn’t science amazing?

Our models Taylee & Ty Wilding so graciously drove out to Spiral Jetty Great Salt Lake Utah to help us create these images. Taylee is wearing the Remington gown by Chantel Lauren, you can find it HERE. This incredible dress features a silk and chantilly lace bodice with a hand painted satin organza skirt. In the same vein, if you are wanting a unique wedding gown, Chantel will have the dress of your dreams! I only wish she would have been in business earlier! I would have snagged me a Chantel Lauren for my own wedding in a heartbeat.

The way this dress moves is magical! The full skirt is so light yet perfectly structured.

We explored Spiral Jetty Great Salt Lake Utah as the sun set. This old pier added an interesting element to this session. I loved playing around with the lines these posts created in the composition.

This shoot took place an hour and a half before sunset during the last week of August. I would say that the weather would be perfect in this area all through the warm summer months.
